Hello, my name is Matt McCuistion, and I am excited to be here today! Here you will find what kind of work experience that I have and some of the activities that I enjoy and interests that I have.
I first started working when I was in the 8th grade. A friend of mine convinced me to ditch track practice to look into becoming a golf caddy at the Broadmoor Hotel here in Colorado Springs. For that summer I began to understand what work was really like, at first I couldn't even carry the golf bag that well! I quickly learned how the game was played, how to read yardage, read greens, suggest which golf club to use, and really how to serve others' interests. Later that summer I was promoted to the highest status at that time, Honor Caddy. I even had the opportunity to caddy at the Castle Pines golf course during one of their professional tournaments. I did this for three years.
When I was a junior in high school I had the opportunity to take some courses at Pikes Peak Community College, and I seized it. I enrolled in a course called Med Prep, it was not what I had expected it to be. It was a class that educated me on health issues, specific procedures of taking care of others and eventually lead me to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I worked as a personal home healthcare aide for a company called Maxim Home Healthcare Services, also here in Colorado Springs. Here was where I learned how to communicate the needs of individuals and sincerely care for another's well being. I learned how to explain procedures to scared and confused people. I learned how to bring a positive attitude to work everyday and to really motivate individuals to be excited about their lives. I have worked varying degrees of this field for the past 6 years, and I loved it!
When I attended college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I held 2 positions, resident advisor and student manager of the freshman orientation. While performing these jobs I learned how to manage tasks, events and people. These experiences taught me how to deal with difficult situation, and this is an extremely important skill to have when dealing with people in general. I really appreciated the life skills and experience that came with these positions.
I studied biological sciences in college, my major was human biology, essentially a pre-medical major. These courses taught me how to analyze data, how to conduct experiments, make crucial observations, deduce efficient pathways to solutions and explain complex concepts in a clear and logical way. I really enjoyed school, and I find myself learning at all times, picking out concepts from everyday situations and applying them wherever they make life better!
My life is exciting! I love to be outdoors, running, biking, snowboarding, hiking trails, really anything outside. I like going to the gym and lifting some weights or taking a cycling class. I like to be social, sit and talk to people, listen to them, spend time with them, give them support when they need it, I just really enjoy people.
I am a Christian, and I love to honor God in everything that I do. I reason that if I am not conducting myself in a selfless, subservient and loving method, then I must change the way that I am conducting myself so as to please Him.
I train in the martial art of Taekwondo. I have recently revitalized this training that I had taken a 7 year break from, and I whole heartedly enjoy it. This teaches me some of the values in life that people should have but may never learn, like respect, cooperation, honesty, perseverance and leadership.
I made the decision to enter into real estate mainly to help my family. My parents have been suffering pretty severely in a financial manner, and what I was doing wasn't enough. I had taken out 2 loans to cure our home, paid bills, and bought food for us to eat. I was working as a home healthcare aide during this ordeal, and I was working 60 hour weeks while maintaining a full-time schedule in school. This meant working every single day of the year for 3 years, and it was something that I wanted to do for my family. I had grown up around real estate transactions for almost my entire life. My dad has been in the business of brokering mortgages for over 20 years. Now, we have the opportunity to work together. Together, we are a highly efficient team that love to work hard, and don't know any other way to work, we sincerely care for our clients and work as if we are trying to get the absolute best deal for our own home. This is where you can rest assured that you are getting the best quality possible, because we just do not know how to skimp on quality!
I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR YOU IN TURNING YOUR DREAMS INTO REALTY!!!
